Caught up with Baltimore Gilman School QB Kai Locksley just before he was about to board his flight home. Some highlights ...

- First off, Kai is a great kid. Really enjoyable to talk to. Very respectful, polite, great personality. It's easy to see why college coaches love him.

- Locksley said he loved the visit overall - the time with the coaches, the current players, the other recruits, the campus ... all of it. He said he had a couple things he wanted to see coming in (how he'd fit in, etc) and Texas "definitely hit" on all the questions he had.

- Locksley is still committed to Florida State, but Texas is very much in the race here. He's going to go home, talk to his family and then set up in-homes with Jimbo Fisher and Charlie Strong and Shawn Watson for this week.

- Texas is recruiting Locksley as a QB. He said no coaches at any school have talked to him about playing anything but QB.

- He was hosted by Malik Jefferson. He said he really bonded with Malik, Charles Omenihu, Du'Vonta Lampkin, Daylon Mack and just about everybody else that was there.

"Basically everybody that was there, we really grew close and had a great bond. That's definitely what you want to see with a class you'd be coming in with and when you're trying to jump-start a program."

- Locksley has also become close with John Burt. He said Burt has been working him hard to get him to Texas ever since the Under Armour Game. Needless to say, Locksley feels pretty confident that Burt winds up at Texas.

- Locksley said Daylon Mack and Soso Jamabo were both asking him what he's doing. After hanging out with those guys this weekend, he feels Texas is in a really good spot. In fact, he thinks you're going to see a surge to the finish for UT.

"I feel like there will be a lot of guys coming (to Texas)," Locksley said.
