I can break it down for you.....a teams play reflects the coach.....a bad coach = dumb decisions by players. Shaka should never be a head coach again. The turnovers....no movement off the ball....Dylan Osetkowski getting any playing time. Shaka came to TEXAS because his teams supposedly played "Havoc" defense...he was a con artist and TEXAS got scammed.
It's safe to say the Patterson experiment is about to be completely flushed. If we keep him for another year, there will be irreparable damage done to Texas Basketball. At this point, it's a complete rebuild. It's a complete rebuild for the fan base as well as the team.
No biggie. Texas only lost because it was a meaningless game and they didn’t want to be there.
Its basketball ((yawn)), but anytime the Big 12 bests the $EC it makes it fun to make fun of that overrated conference.

Can someone please twitter Steve Patterson and ask him how his "two historic hires" which were his words, not mine, worked out for the University? Anyone? I only ask because I've been kicked off twitter for asking someone if they thought a 5.56 round taken to the chest would hurt less than a 12 gauge round to the chest.
If we're going to be honest a lot of people were saying that it would be great if TX could get Shaka Smart to coach here. People were saying this when Barnes was still the coach. Kirk Bohls was leading the way and more than a few people on this board were saying the sane thing.

Oh I was in favor of the hire. And for the first few years I thought "he's just getting his guys in place". But it still hasn't happened. He thinks he got the job on his abysmal ball screen offense, but he got it from the havoc stuff. And just because you can't use the hashtag doesn't mean you can't use the defense. We will eventually recover. And one of these days he'll go someplace else, probably get back to pressing and start winning and people will say "boy Texas sure screwed that up." But the only screw up right now is that he's still here. We're not stagnant; we're sinking. Bring on buzz or Chris beard or musselman or Marshall or somebody-- just make sure they're planning on running what got them their success

I'm another who was on board. I thought if he could get that VCU type of effort out of five stars, final 4's would follow. Never been more wrong - his offense couldn't win in the peach basket era. Bob Weltliech coaches circles around Shaka. Time to close the book on this era.
