Sources have told me that Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin and defensive coordinator John Chavis will attempt to hire away Texas defensive line coach Brick Haley.
Haley is scheduled to speak at the Lone Star Coaching Clinic in College Station this weekend. From what I have been told, the staff at Texas A&M wants Haley because of his success in recruiting, especially in Louisiana, and Haley's previous ties with Chavis when both coaches were on the LSU staff.
I do not know if Haley has been offered a contract by Texas A&M at this point, but the Aggies are ready to attempt to lure away Charlie Strong's defensive line coach.
Ironically, Chavis was hired by Texas A&M last February, yet Haley was not offered the opportunity to join the Aggies at that time. After Haley's success at Texas, he is now being pursued by Texas A&M.
