Yep and that’s why I was critical of Herman being basically appointed HC before Strong was even fired. Now people want to blast me and say that’s not whst happened but come on Herman to Texas was the rumor for two years. That’s whst the boosters wanted and with a booster(basically) in the AD chair that’s what they got.
If Strong had not beaten OU that 2nd season there is a strong chance(no pun intended) he was fired. That’s not me trolling that was the story from all the people in the know.

I don’t think Strong was close to being fired in year 2. I remember people that had no say in the matter (message board chatter) saying he should be.

I also think it’s too early to be saying Herman will be fired in year 2. Why? We haven’t seen the players he will recruit for us. We haven’t seen the off-season adjustments he will make with schemes and personnel (if required).

On the plus side, any recruit who watched this game will see they have more than a fighting chance to play next year as a freshman.
Next year we will have the SAME offense and lose a lot on defense. Herman is going to get run out of town next year.
Why am I seeing our players playing giggles suck a$$ with tcu players after the game? You just got your butt handed to you and you want to go out on the field and play giggles suck a$$ with the enemy? We have no killers. We have no assassins. We have no no guys that hate losing more than they enjoy winning.

I remember reading stories that Mike Perrin, who had just taken over was ready to move on from Strong but the OU win kind of calmed the waters.
Herman is gonna get a pass this year for a lot of reasons. Some deserved and some not. If he comes out and loses to Maryland next September though... it’s gonna get uncomfortable for him.
Let's talk about expectations:
Loss to Maryland sucked. No excuse for that loss.
Loss to USC could have gone either way.
Loss to Oklahoma and tcu, both teams that lost to an Iowa state team that we handled. Same can be said about Okie lite.
This team could be running around with one legit loss and one crap loss. Instead, we are a laughing stock.
To me, this is part of the culture of kissing all your players heads, giving out orange slices, etc... “we want the kids to have fun.”
Not sure that’s true. Colin Johnson looked like he was going to be a stud last year. He’s taken a step back this year but bubble screens and that non sense really isn’t his game. Lil Jordon looks like a play maker to. I’m just not sure they are being positioned to succeed.
I expected 8-9 wins. Which was basically winning the games you should an$ pulling one upset. Not all that crazy. If we had any offense at all we’d be on track to do that and then some.
They have been a laughing stock the last three years. Why would you expect anything different this year? I don't think we would have more than 2 wins if Strong were still here. At the start of the year UT was projected to win 7-8 games, they are still on track to do that. If anything changed, too many people in here drank the kool-aid and expected a new coach to turn this mess around in one year. Now you have people wanting to fire him.
