It is that time of the year....preseason rankings will start dropping, with the first being released today.

Perfect Game is the first to release their rankings and I believe that D1 Baseball will be releasing theirs this coming Monday.

Here are the initial stream of thoughts in reviewing the PG rankings.

  • Texas at 7 is far too high. I personally have them slated closer to 18
  • Texas A&M definitely deserves to be #1 as that team is absolutely loaded with talent, both offensively and on the mound. Hard to find a glaring weakness.
  • I think Virginia is one spot too low. The Cavs are going to be very very good.
  • 3-4 should be LSU and Tennessee - hard to differentiate them right now
  • Why in the world is Arkansas not in the Top 5? That pitching staff is stupid deep and they have improved their offense
  • I would put Clemson and Florida State ahead of Georgia, but the Dawgs are going to surprise quite a few people
  • I think OU, Oklahoma State, and TCU all should be ranked higher. OU has a lot of pitching talent, just need to see the offense. Okie State has some serious power and their pitching should be improved.
  • I think Duke is a bit too high, as I would have Oregon State, Florida, and Arizona above them.
