Top 10 Draft Prospects:
  1. Travis Bazzana (2B), Oregon State
  2. Charlie Condon (OF/3B), Georgia
  3. Jac Caglianone (1B/LHP), Florida
  4. JJ Wetherholt (SS/2B), West Virginia
  5. Hagen Smith (LHP), Arkansas
  6. Chase Burns (RHP), Wake Forest
  7. Nick Kurtz (1B), Wake Forest
  8. Braden Montgomery (OF), Texas A&M
  9. Konnor Griffin (SS/OF), Jackson Prep - LSU signee
  10. Bryce Rainer (SS), Harvard-Westlake - Texas signee

Here are the Texas Longhorns (current roster and signees) that will be hoping to hear their names called.

10. Bryce Rainer (Texas signee) - he is in contention to be the first or second HS prep player taken and he will sign

28. Theo Gillen (Texas signee) - the only question is who high does he go. He could go in the high teens, but will likely be taken at the end of the First Round and will sign

58. Levi Sterling (Texas signee) - despite being a Top 60 pick, he has a strong commitment to Texas and there is confidence he will make it to campus

60. Jared Thomas (Texas) - the lead off man and prolific sophomore is slated to be an early Round 2 pick and will sign and begin his pro career

116. Jalin Flores (Texas) - after a breakout year, the sophomore has put his name in contention for a Top 100 spot, but there is belief that he will come back to campus to raise his draft stock even further and try to break into the first round

140. Drew Rerick (Texas signee) - the newest signee and highest ever rated prospect from North Dakota is definitely on MLB radars, but being a northern kid that is a RHP puts a bit of a cap on his draft ceiling. There is a confidence that the Horns can get him to campus

190. Jason Flores (Texas signee) - Flores is a hard throwing RHP that also plays in the OF, but long term has the higher ceiling on the bump. The feeling is that he would certainly like to sign and that is the expectation.

239. Kyle DeGroat (Texas signee) - the hard throwing RHP from New York is a bit of a question mark. No one I have talked to has a good feeling for which way he is leaning, but he is a kid that in my opinion should make his way to campus, learn from Coach Max and raise his draft stock. That said, with the coaching staff change and being a kid from the North that has aspirations of MLB, not sure what he will do.

Other names to watch for:
  • Bryce Navarre (Texas signee) - the talented pitcher flipped his commitment from A&M to Texas and looks very likely to make it to campus
  • Sam Richardson (Texas signee) - the OF from Mississippi with the big bat certainly has been on the MLB radar, but based on what I’ve heard, he will make his way to campus as the signing bonus won’t be there to lure him away
  • Matt Scott (Texas signee) - the OF from Houston with the big bat is expected to make it to campus, but based on some conversations recently, I would not be surprised if he took a UDFA or late round offer and signed. This one could go either way
  • Tanner Witt - after trying to make an early comeback and then having an unsettled 2024 in which he was eventually shut down to have a second surgery to clean things up. I have heard that he has looked very good on the bump and finally feels healthy. Prevailing thought is that some team will make an offer as he did turn down serious money to return to Texas last year, but will he do the same again? In my opinion, he is a guy that should come back to school and work with Coach Max to prove that he is back
  • Lebarron Johnson Jr - the hard throwing RHP turned down good money to return to Texas, but did not have the year he would have liked. Just based on his tape and measurables, some MLB team is going to take a chance on him in the middle rounds.
  • Peyton Powell - the ultimate utility man has put enough on tape the past two seasons that he will hear his name called in the mid to late rounds
  • Gage Boehm - the righty is older (23) and is out of eligibility. An MLB team should take a flyer on him in the late rounds
  • Porter Brown - the talented OF did not have the year he wanted in 2024. Did he show enough for a team to take a flyer on him in the later rounds? It is possible, but he still may get an UDFA offer
