Brunch and baseball is back again, the Sunday edition.
We have switched from mimosas and baseball to bourbon and baseball as Texas needs to get things ramped up and come out with a victory to win the series today.
As always, the motto remains. ALWAYS win on Sundays. The Horns weren't the only team to drop a game yesterday as #1 Arkansas, #3 LSU, #5 Tennessee, and #17 Vanderbilt all lost as well.
As it stands, the Horns remain tied for 1st in the SEC, but getting a series win is vital to continue the momentum and upward trend.
On the mound, Kentucky has yet to allow an opposing pitcher go longer than 5 innings pitched against them. Can RHP Ruger Riojas change that today? It may be imperative that he does for the Horns who depleted a number of arms yesterday in the 15 inning showdown against the Wildcats, in which they came up on the short end of.
Likewise, Texas needs to get into the bullpen as soon as possible against Kentucky as they have used the majority of their best arms already.
This lends itself to what could be a higher scoring game, but only if the Texas offense can get things going as they have been held in check by the Wildcat pitching this weekend.
So get to church to say your prayers, pour yourself a couple fingers, and strap in. Sunday morning baseball is on deck!
