Look good, play good! Horns are in the white tops with burnt orange pin stripes as they take on #17 Oklahoma State in the Sunday finale from Globe Life Field.
The Longhorns and Cowboys have had similar seasons through the first two games. Both lost their opening game by a single run and both came back the next day and battered their opponent. Coming into the weekend, I picked the Horns to go 2-1. Transparently, I picked the Horns to lose to the Pokes due to the uncertainty of who would be the Sunday starter and the top 5 ranked Pokes offensive lineup. Tonight represents another great test for the Horns pitching staff as they will face a lineup that likes to go yard and has a ton of power. Also similar to Texas, when the Pokes get things rolling, it is very tough to slow them down.
A loss is not the end of the world. It is but another data point for the coaches to use as they continue to mold the team into their vision, and it is still very early on. A win will provide very useful at the end of the season as it would represent a Top 25 RPI win away from home. A win would also help answer questions that many have had about the pitching staff coming into the season.
At the end of the day, the motto still exists. ALWAYS WIN ON SUNDAY!
