Well before we delve into the next men's coach we will find out tonight who the lady horns will play Saturday probably High Point. The first 2 games will be in Austin and then it's on to the Birmingham regionals. Hey they're a number one seed I'm going to cheer them on.
Personally I’d be happy with this one. All you have to do is look at his success everywhere he goes. He's a master that we may be able to sap a few more years out of him before he gets too old. He’s turned SJ into a 2 seed in 3 yrs.
However, I really don’t care about the salacious issues with most of these coaches but how is hiring Pitino any different than why we fired Beard? Is it just a timing thing? Pitino has served out his penance?
ESPN's Pete Thamel just reported that Sean Miller is the front runner to be the next Texas Basketball coach.

Sean Miller would be a great hire. He would do very well with our facilities and resources. I just love his passion and intensity for the game and his players. I doubt CDC would have him at the top of his list. He likes to go big game hunting so my guess is he’s gunning for either Bill Self or Tommy Lloyd.

Won the Pac 12 5 times in 12 years, conference tourney 3 times, and conference coach of the year 3 times. Also 3 elite 8s and 2 more sweet 16s.
At Xavier, took the team to the tourney regularly with one elite 8 and 2 more sweet 16s.
All the dude does is win. He’s arguably the best coach Texas has ever hired before his first game.
He was fired for violations at AZ. Not for losing. With NIL, no more worries about violations. He's also an excellent recruiter. It's going to take him 2-3 years to get our program turned around and contending on a consistent basis. He's literally starting from scratch.

His last 5 years with us. I wished he'd have wanted to advanced this far as he does now. I hope Houston kicks their ***. And Michigan State took down Chris Beard.
I would have liked to see what Rick could have done at UT with NIL money. Apparently Tennessee is helping give him the resources he needs. Being a great coach is also important to have talent to coach.
