1. I love how PK, Nansen, and Baker will move Anthony Hill Jr., Trey Moore, and Collin Simmons all over the place. They put a lot on the plate of 0, 8, and 11. This speaks to the football IQ of these three.

2. On Wednesday, I saw Moore play down, off the ball, and even in the slot. He plays as much OLB as he does DE. I hope Moore returns for 2025, but if I am an NFL GM I draft him becsuse I know I am getting a smart versatile defender that makes plays.

3. Has Liona Lefau hit a sophomore wall? He’s not making near the number of impact plays he was as when he first took over as a starter. Gbenda seems to be getting more reps of late. Gbenda’s motor never stops.

4. I didn’t see Ty’Anthony Smith on Wednesday. Simmons, Smith, January, and Black are pretty good freshman defensive cornerstones.

5. I so wanted that blocked punt for Mo Blackwell. He is a nice combo of size and speed that just never found a role on defense.

6. Sark made a great hire with Johnny Nansen. Hill, Gbenda, and recruits talk about him “differently” than they did Choate. You can sense more energy in their words and tone when they talk about Nansen. They were more reserved when talking about Choate.

Prediction: Anthony Hill Jr. has the game of his life because he won’t have to spy the QB and won’t have a lot of coverage responsibilities. He will get to do what he does best: see ball, read his keys, instantly react, chase ball, and destroy who has it. 13 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble.
