There are some blogs out there that are very touchy when posters call out SS for poor coaching. It's obvious that Texas is not going to make the ncaa tournament. It will be interesting to see what happens with the new AD and this obvious situation with SS.
Its safe to say now that Shaka was a bad hire. Texas has got to get these hires right. There is no reason why Texas shouldn't be top ten every year in all sports.
Not going to happen til maybe end of next year. At this point, don't waste your time tuning in. Check the score at a later time. You'll be happier and will not have wasted 2-3 hours you can't get back. If they get above .500 in big 12 play, feel free to watch but I have a feeling we will be 1-3 after tcu.

Respectfully disagree. False dichotomy, in my opinion. You take a Jarrett Allen or Mo Bamba any time you can get one, and Shaka should continue to fight for the elite of the elite among high school prospects.
These elite players are more often than not plus players for the team, and landing them helps you draw other talented players that aren't necessarily threats to jump to the NBA after one year. And it's not as if one-and-dones have been taking up much of our roster -- Bamba's the only one this year, and Allen was the only one last year. And both last year's and this year's teams are vastly worse without Allen and Bamba.
The biggest areas of concern with Shaka are turning out to be (1) in some combination, his ability to evaluate and develop offensive skill and (2) his ability to run a competent offensive system. Defense is squared away.
Yeah, Shaka is not going anywhere until the end of next season at the earliest.
In that event, it would sure be nice if either Donovan or Hoiberg were to fall out of the NBA and into Texas's lap.
buzz. williams. small enough program to justify leaving. was the consensus #2 choice when shaka was hired. keeps showing up at tabc. i haven't given up on this team or shaka, though i detest the offense.
having said all that, billy donovan would be a great get for anybody, but if i were a big time coach and i saw 800 fans at a game (and that exaggeration is only slight for some games and we all know it), i'd look and see if something else were available.

I had a bad feeling something like this was going to come out. Shaka said last week they weren’t real sure what was going on with him, and then this week he was sorta cryptic. Usually myestry type illnesses don’t end with good results. Hopefully he ends up coming through everything alright.
