UPDATED 10:50 P.M. - From what I have been told, there is no need to panic about Jerrod Heard's shoulder injury.

According to my sources, Heard sustained a slight shoulder sprain after he fell during practice on Tuesday. This is viewed as a minor injury, and he is not expected to miss a lot of practice. I am being told he could be back next week, with a slight chance of being out two weeks.

Nobody I spoke with tonight is worried. As a result, it does not appear Longhorn fans should be concerned about Heard's long-term status.

Texas quarterback Jerrod Heard sustained a shoulder injury in practice Tuesday and is being evaluated at this time, according to a UT press release.

The injury appears to be on his throwing arm. We will continue to dig and try to find out more information.

Meanwhile, Shane Buechele will be Tyrone Swoopes' backup until Heard is cleared to play.
