Texas RB Jaydon Blue to enter the transfer portal

How many were the #1 RB in the nation? He hasn't been given an opportunity to play. Sark has been busy calling incompletions to worthy. Were we expecting him to beat out Bijan and Roschon, really? If he leaves, we have an experience gap.

Baxter is a freshman. Do we need to be starting freshmen? I seem to recall 777 bitching about starting freshmen.

He was #15 on 247 composite, so where in the world are you seeing he was #1???

If he leaves we have an experience gap??? WTF. He doesn't have experience. Brooks and KRob do. If both those two left then we'd have a big problem.

And if wanted to leave because he didn't get reps over Bijan and RoJo then who gives a shit tbh.

Some of your overreaction is warranted, but not here. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill

Our running game did not exist against UW. Our interior line is not good. We let our best interior lineman go to the portal. We continue to have gaps in experienced players due to transfers and it hurts our onfield production. Blue is not being developed and that is the problem. He is a superior talent. His numbers are elite. He would likely transfer to aggy or cougar high where he would be used correctly and beat us next year.

2300, I like you man, but shut the **** up on this one. Mother****er dude

We agree. Blue has not been developed. Baxter should not be given a pass. If we can block, then blue will be a stud. That's only if we can block. Year 3 for Sark, pressure is on.
What players are usually developed after their freshman year?

Having a year in a college strength and conditioning program as well as knowing the playbook, pass blocking, etc are all learned in practice. A freshman will not have any of these plusses. Bijan did not start as a freshman because he could not pass block. There is a lot to being a running back besides being fast and strong. Baxter needs a year in the system to gain strength, size, knowledge of the plays, and pass blocking skills. K Rob and Brooks are not big backs so they have a higher risk of injury. Do we remember a qb having to be our RB? I do. After Brooks, we have a true freshman in Baxter. Ya, that makes a lot of sense. At least ya'll will have an excuse for losing, right? Y'all motherfvckers sound like aggys. It's always next year.

Bijan was more than ready to carry the load his freshman season if he had to. Tom Herman just chose to misuse him. He averaged 8.2 yards per carry on only 86 carries. He also had 15 receptions for 200 yards. And if you had been paying attention to what I have been saying, they are looking to bring in a portal RB as well. I think you need to be medicated (unless you're not already).

Running back is the easiest position in college football to translate from the high school level to college. Baxter already has a college body at 6-1 215 pounds. Between him, Brooks, and Blue our RB room should be just fine next year.

No, I don't drink, take drugs, or anything. I have an allergy to stupidity. Looks like the Texas coaching staff and boosters agreed with me.... keeping blue was better than anything in the portal. And yes, Blue was the #1 back in 2022 until he sat out a year.

This is how I see it. This new generation of collegiate athletes are no different than what you see in the corporate work force. They see something that's better for them and they move on quickly. I think the days of being faithful and sticking to your word for 3-4 years is gone. It's the new way of doing things we just need to get used to it.

I don't think they are all like that. There's still some guys like Bijan and Roschon out there. I don't get those vibes from Arch at all either.

He sees the writing on the wall. Baxter is coming in early and him and Brooks are probably going to be 1 and 2 on the depth chart. Most of these kids nowadays fold with any kind of adversity and run away from competition.
If reps were given consistently to Blue he would emerge as an elite back. Missed his senior year and has all kinds of talent. He needs reps/ carries and as much as I love Keilan and what Keilan can do as a situational back he does not have close to the upside that Blue does and I thought it was ridiculous that Blue had no carries or screens or anything in that Bowl game. The kid is a very good player. And was # 1 back in the country going into his senior year which again he missed.

Nobody is saying he's not talented. I would argue Brooks and Baxter's upside is higher than Blue's though. That's just my personal opinion though. In their limited amount of carries they have had Brooks has looked a lot better than Blue has.

It also speaks to how talented our RB room has been for the last 2 years that a guy of his talent level can't get on the field.

Blue missed a year on the field. Edit. I was in Atlanta traffic when trying to post this in response to your post. I like Brooks a lot and Baxter will be very good. Blue needed more reps and to get acclimated to game speed and I believe Blue has the traits to be a very very good back.

I think he is an instinctive runner with great vision, explosiveness very elusive and tough and it would have been nice to see him achieve what he is capable of at Texas. Some program is going to get a very good football player with a huge upside.

Well that's just the thing, he's not going anywhere. He's staying at Texas lol.

I hope you are right. He is too talented to spend the next 3 years sitting on the bench. And if Texas is not going to play him, he certainly can and should transfer to a team where he will play.

So, Barry Sanders was 5' 8 200 pounds and was the greatest running back of all time

You explicity stated that Blue was bigger than Brooks and that somehow implied that Blue would be more durable. So, I listed their sizes.

Blue is staying. If he would've left it the "optics" would've been just fine. Blue was not the #1 RB in the country, he was #15.

You're way off on this one my man.

I think at one point he was the #1 ranked RB in the country and he missed his entire senior season which impacted his ranking substantially. Blue is a hell of a talent, but it is hard to develop with minimal carries even in practices.

RB room is extremely talented with the addition of Baxter this season. I thought Brooks was underrated coming out of high school. Going to a small school hurt his ranking. Brooks, Blue, and Baxter is a pretty nasty trio of guys.

Ok, well, Bijan and RoJo, who weren't going to be limited are now gone. Guess it is time for his talent to shine.

Baxter IS the #1 RB in the country. So if Blue is everything you and 2300 say he is, we should be in terrific hands. Because Brooks is no slouch either.

I said missing his senior year hurt him and I don't think that the only people that felt Blue was an elite back and starter to huge contributor the way that Roschon has been are me and 2300. Virtually every program in the country wanted him and if he did enter the portal it would take all of 20 to 30 minutes for him to find a new home at an SEC or other power 5 program. Glad he is staying at UT for another season.

Cool. That’s a bunch of backs every year.
