Texas redshirt sophomore receiver Jordan Pouncey is expected to transfer, according to my sources. Pouncey is not in the transfer portal, but it appears his name will show up sooner than later.

Pouncey has been buried on the depth chart since arriving in 2017 because of the talent in front of him. From what I was told, Pouncey loves Texas, his coaches, and the program, but wants to attend another school and receive more playing time. Pouncey has played mostly on special teams since arriving at Texas.

In addition, his brother, Ethan Pouncey, recently decommitted because they want to play football together. Ethan has been injured and is out for the remainder of the season. Nobody I spoke to knows if the Pouncey brothers have worked out a landing spot.

This is the time of year when backup players start looking elsewhere. There was a lot of transfer portal activity in November and December last year because players want to be on the market first. Pouncey's decision to transfer gives him a chance to beat the competition.

I have not heard about any other Longhorn player who might transfer, but will continue to monitor that situation in the upcoming weeks.
