I think that's true. They need bodies, and the really great players don't appear to be available in the portal unfortunately.

Not from what I saw. He's an above average player that fills a huge void at the nose tackle position. Arizona was a really good run defense last year and he and Savea (the other transfer we got from Arizona) were a big part in that. He was a top 100 recruit out of high school.

It is crazy. However, the last thing I want is a cap. Long story short, it only hurts Texas. I know in the 70s-2022, pre-NIL, Texas participated like everybody else with $100 handshakes. However, ou and the SEC cheated on a whole other level. Imagine if we had a cap and Texas honored the rule? We would seey ou and SEC go back to thriving by paying the cap with a lot of additional under the table cash.

He’s a good player, that’s for sure. Just not an elite player. Does anybody have any insight on Broughton? There has been a Texas sized effort to replace or rotate with him in the portal. Is he simply average, above average or good? We know he is not elite. But, can’t this new coach get more out of him? Or is there a lazy or effort issues with him. I would love to see him step up this season. I am aleays in favor of working from within if possible rather than loking to outsiders.
The CB from San Jose St. has apparently committed to the good guys. Javion Cole. He was highly regarded and pursued by many elite programs. If true, that’s a huge addition.
