I've been wanting to referee high school football for decades now but was always too tied up with work and family activities. I retired a couple of years back and have now pulled the trigger, I signed up to be a referee in Austin beginning this fall. First training is 6/10/24. If anyone on OB is or was a high school referee please let me know any tips/advice you may have for me, and things you wished you had known when you first signed up. As all new members do, I'll be tasked with Jr. Varsity games and lower level games; you have to have one year of that work before being eligible for varsity games. Thanks and hook'em!
