Texas vs Kansas State

Strong has got to go. Start over. Hire a coach who can coach and get the most out of their players. Strong is loved by his players but they don't play for him.

Dude it is the coaches job to get their players to play at a high level.
Coaches can't catch the ball or tackle for you. I'm ok with firing Strong but players need to,look in the mirror to.

They all have come out and said "we love Strong and need to keep him" we'll make plays for him.

A team takes on the personality of the coaching staff. Expect great...get great.
Nice saying. Not reality. Say what you want about Strong he has certainly made mistakes. The idea though that he or any coach doesn't expect those plays to be made is silly

No way these guys respect strong because they don't respect themselves. That was a full hour of embarrassment.

I love fried chicken and cherry pie with ice cream-- but it makes you fat.

I love blonde girls with huge fake tits-- but it makes you broke.

I love skittles and m&ms, but sweets make your teeth rot out.

I love smoking Crack with my neighbors, but drugs will make you die.

Players love charlie-- but we lose.

Well, I thought Charlie just needed time, after 2 + years it seems we just keep getting worse, I'm done, Get the best coach possible before LSU does, fire him on the way home.

I get that. Like I said I'm fine with firing him. My point is coaches can't catch the ball, tackle, or stay onsides. The players are in control of weather Charlie stays. Make a few plays and he will be your coach. Don't and he won't.

I think to often the coach takes all the blame and players get a pass. If your running wide open down the field and the ball hits you in the hands the coach did his job(called the right play) QB did his(put it on the money) WR has to do his. And that's not happening

I've got to give Charlie credit....watching his postgame presser and he sure is putting the best possible face on this steaming pile that the Longhorns just laid...

Unfortunately, you can't fire the players.

Coach recruits players--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And if talent were the issue that might be a point. Talent isn't the problem. These guys clearly have ablity.

All I'm saying if this keeps up you can bring in Tom Herman, Nick Saban, whoever and we will be having the same problems.

That's an over simplification of the process.
UGH------- I was taught as a child that if you can't explain something simply, it's because you don't understand it well enough.

Yes--- on the surface, a coach coaches and a player plays. A chef cooks and a patron eats-- < See what I did there?

It is the responsibility OF the coach to recruit players that will FIT his system and adhere to his philosophies.

It is the responsibility of the coach, once he GETS these players to then properly indoctrinate said kids into said system.

There are two types of coaches--- Big picture coaches and Detail oriented coaches.

I was told long ago by a hall of fame coach "Take care of the little things and the big things will take care of themselves...."
Now be honest--- does charlie strike you as a details guy??????

That lays all the responsibility for a players success or failure on the ability of the coach. Some players just don't make it.

Yes--- some don't--- for whatever reason. So you cut them loose and get somebody else. Pretty simple when you have 85 schollies to hand out.

Texas has yet to accumulate enough depth to cut anyone loose.

Sometimes it is the players, but, I would say most of the time, it's the coaching.-especially in 3rd year. One example of the latter would be Manny Diaz fired-Greg Robinson hired-problem immediately fixed.

Good grief guys . . . Charlie couldn't coach a girls soccer league to a 4th place finish. He has no idea what he's doing. Fire him now.

I watched today in the 1st half as a UT defensive back was actually blocked into the receiver on a bubble screen and he completely wiffed. An 8th grader could of made the play.

These guys love Charlie but they don't fear him. That is the problem.

You never played football if you don't think a team takes on the personality of the coaching staff. It does. Hey you love Strong...good for you. Strong keeps losing with players that "love" him. You think Bama's players LOVE Saban? Probably not but they play their asses off or they get blasted and sit down.

ryan is clueless sometimes. He actually compared Houston to KU and Duke in a conference debate.
