Our girls are something this year. Have known this since last year with the talent we got in. But due to injuries last year we couldnt show what we had. We just beat down number 14 Stanford. Thinking we beat Tennessee was a fluck yeah no we will be a final 4 team or better this year!

I'm with you Robo. Are they the Warriors? Of course not. But this is a really good team, with a chance to be great. They have their own Griner starter kit - the center is tough. Alston has recruited at an incredible pace. She has even better class coming in next year. Must see TV - Baylor/Mulkey vs. UT/Alston. Mulkey is not going to give up the crown without a fight. The two meetings this year, plus a likely conference championship game, are going to be intense.

Aston is doing one hell of a job. Hard to believe we've been irrelevant in this sport for most of the last quarter-century, but glad to see we're finally making some noise again. The UT-Baylor rivalry should be good one in the coming years.

Either way, the women's game can be fun to watch, and if they have a Longhorn or "Texas" emblazoned on the jersey, Im rooting for them all the way. ok, so my opinion that girls bb sucks is not ok with you?? got it...If you read the thread, at least as far as I am concerned, I was hostile toward the jackleg that scolded me concerning the bb team being a woman's team and not a girl's team. Hence the response you read. I do not like to watch girls basketball because it is not good basketball, the fact that I called it girl's instead of women is where it got twisted.

We have men's teams, and we have women's teams. No problem as far as I'm concerned. Most people I know don't like it either. BUT --- for those that are indifferent towards women's sports --- give this team a look and you will be surprised. They've got a legitimate big, some guards that are quick as cats, and more recruits on the way. The UT/Baylor women's hoops rivalry is about to move up to the UConn/Notre Dame rivalry level.

I was not calling them a girl's team to insult them. At my age anyone under 30 is a boy/girl. I do not like being called out for something I didn't do, so I responded. I don't really care if you like it or not. If I would have said the boy's bb squad would you have lost your shit and complained about that as well?
