Thank you Quinn Ewers

Quinn isn't average and he didn't return average results as some have said. He was a bit disappointing for sure, just like Simms as you mention.

Way I see it here are my top all time QBs...not going back past Street old timers, so feel free to interject

1 - Vince
2 - Colt
3 - Street
4 - Quinn
5 - Sam
6 - JB
7 - Major
8 - Simms
9 - Gardere

Nobody really worth that 10 spot IMO. Man, we have a pretty shitty (depth wise) QB room historically.
On the list, how many started in the NFL?

How many were invited to the Heisman?

How many broke college football season records? Game records?

How many won the College football championship? Took the Horns to the College Football Championship game?

"The greatest quarterback I ever saw was Bobby Layne." <------ Tom Landry

Come on man! Case McCoy gotta have that #10 spot then, soley on his ping pong run vs aggy. He dirtied up his uniform for us!
Give it to him, until Manning earns his spot, hopefully up there with Vince and Colt!
279 more days til kickoff!!🤘🏻

I'm assuming you're referencing Layne here? Throw Bobby Layne wherever you want. Dude was a baller, but I have never even seen highlights. Just know he won a few Super Bowls, or I guess NFL championships back then and he was wasted at Texas because of ****ing Rice...twice, and a 1 point loss to SMU.

The story forever of Longhorn seasons...****ing ALMOST.

Texas very easily could've had a title (or at least played for one) in '47, '61, '64, '81, '83, '90, '01, '08, '09, '23, '24

Texas is the best ALMOST football program all time I think

I digress...here is my answer to your question

Started a game in the NFL??

VY, Colt, Sam and Simms and I think that is it.

Only VY has been a "starter" and even that was very short lived.

VY and Colt are the only two that won awards and were invited to the Heisman.

Broke records? Same thing....I think just VY and Colt

Vince is the obvious #1 and Colt is the obvious #2 IMO. VY won a natty, lots of awards and accolades. Colt was the same except he didn't win a natty, but won 2 NY6 just like VY. If Colt wins that 09 title, I think he is above VY. Texas got a screw job in 08, but still won Fiesta.

Street is #3 for winning a natty and had some big moments

Quinn is #4 for winning a conferece champ, big numbers for career, 2 playoff wins, a NY6 win, and 2 playoff appearances

Sam is #5 for career numbers, a conference title appearance and a NY6 bowl win

James Brown is #6 for career numbers, big time Big 12 title (two in his career), but the win over Neb is still legendary.

Major is #7 for career numbers, Cotton Bowl win, win at Neb to end their streak, big time comeback vs. Washington in Holiday Bowl when bowl games still mattered. If he would've led that come back vs. Colorado, I'd probably bump his ass up to #5. ****ing roughing the punter smh

Simms is #8 for career numbers, Cotton Bowl win vs. LSU. Had moments and opportunities early to cement his legacy but instead he couldn't be patient and get along with Major. Lead a win vs. OU in 01 instead ****ing Roy Williams and Teddy Lehman. Beat Colorado, instead played like shit. Still a very solid career.

Eddie Philips was damned good.....Marty Aikins was damned good as well. He and Earl would have won the championship he they been healthy in the Cotton Bowl

It's tough for me to put those wishbone QBs in there over guys that actually threw the football....especially since I didn't see them play. If I watched them play, I would probably have a different POV.
