I joined OB over 10 years ago to bang the drum that we needed to join the SEC for all the reasons that we ended up joining. One of those reasons was the fan experience would be incredible. This first year exceeded my expectations in every way.
Home and road atmospheres were incredible. Beating OU was awesome, but adding the shellacking of aggy and piggy on the road was so sweet for a guy that went to UT back in the SWC era. The UGA and Florida games were exciting, and even the Vandy, Kentucky and Miss St games were a blast. Throw in the Michigan road game, SEC Championship, Clemson home game, Peach Bowl win and the Ohio State Cotton Bowl, and I can’t think of a better overall slate of games ever in one season in my lifetime.
We had a bunch of College Gameday appearances and massive tv ratings. We are back. Thank you Eltife, CDC and Hartzell…you made the right call and I can’t wait for 2025.
