The ladies of Texas WBB are back on the court tonight, facing the Red Raiders in Lubbock. The Longhorns are looking to end a three game skid that included a close loss to Oklahoma and two losses to Baylor.

Update: It wasn’t pretty, but the Longhorns were able to hold off Texas Tech, winning 61-56 at the Erwin Center on Wednesday!

Friday:
The time has arrived… Softball season is here! The Longhorns have traveled to Fort Myers, Florida for the FGCU Kickoff Classic. Play begins with a doubleheader tonight, game one against 15th ranked Clemson and game two against hosting Florida Gulf Coast.
Texas enters the season ranked 8th in the country. Three Longhorns made the preseason All-American teams. The unstoppable hitting force Janae Jefferson was first-team. Pitchers Shea O’Leary and Hailey Dolcini (transfer from Fresno State) were second and third team.
So far, I have not discovered a way to watch the first game of the season, unfortunately. I’ll keeping looking, but we may be reliant on the live stats for that one. The second game will be on FGCU’s YouTube channel.
