We have had trouble making a yard or two in third and forth down when we have really needed it.
Maybe it is time to try something new like "The Big Train Offense".
"The Big Train offense" would have a big offensive lineman as a TE and our fastest DL as a fullback. The TE (Lets say Conner Stroh) is split out to the right and comes in motion towards the QB.
One version of the play just has Connor passing the QB (who is taking the ball under center, the QB takes the ball spins a round and fakes to Connor who picks a weakness on the defense and makes a hole for the fullback.
A second version of the play, the QB actually hands off to Connor and fakes to the fullback.
A third version would obviously be to give to the fullback that would follow Connor into the line.
A forth version would be for the QB to then have a run-pass option.
If nothing else, I bet the defense would be losing their concentration.
I suppose their are many other wrinkles, like and end around, QB draw etc that could be added to that package.
It might even be fun for the offensive line to walk up to the line, pump their fist in the air and give a woooo woooo before going into their stance.

The things you can come up with when you can't sleep and it's the off season.
