This is Rudy, he was 16 years old and I miss him dearly... He passed away about 24 hours ago and I am hurting... Sorry for the FB post, I know, but he watched every game away game I could not make sitting on my lap. He was one of us and I'm at a loss on how to move on without him. He was our first family dog, my kids, all in college now are devastated to hear the news. I was with him in his last moments, at least I know he went without pain as I rushed him to the emergency vet when I woke up and heard he was breathing rapidly, end of life due to heart failure.
I got him after dealing with 8 years of PTSD from multiple deployments. VA doc recommended I get one, even though the VA does not cover them. He saved my life, my marriage and my relationship with my kids. He was more than just an emotional companion, he was my best friend.
Here is to you Rudy, you were loved beyond measure. Wait for me little buddy, I'll see you again someday.
