*The "I was running late" Texas vs Baylol thread*

You were at Rita's and didn't holler? I'm like 10 minutes from there. Love their tacos, picadillo and egg is damned good.
My bad. I was picking up my Rolex that Donnie was servicing for me. I had a new pin put in the band. Literally rolled into his place at 9am and left straight for Rita's.

We sure do have alot of brick hands out there. Nobody wants to step up and be the guy. These games are as crazy as a Spanish telenovela

Since apparently we hired the sports psychologist from "The Natural," I'll just recap...

"We review...
all the fears and anxiety
...which are so
inherently symptomatic...
...of a losing team.
The mind is a strange thing, men.
We must begin by asking it...
..."What is losing?"

Losing is a disease...
...as contagious as polio.
Losing is a disease...
...as contagious as syphilis.
Losing is a disease...
...as contagious as bubonic plague...
... attacking one...
... but infecting all.
Ah, but curable.

Now, I want you to imagine...
...you are on a ship at sea...
...on a vast...
...calm ocean...
...gently rocking.
Gently rocking.
Gently rocking.
Gently rocking."

I don’t see why Hudson can’t get some reps. Casey has been far from spectacular since the OU game.
Casey can’t throw and catch the ball. You didn’t see the key drops by Moore and Washington? Card is no where near ready

We find ways to lose!
With that being said…we are cursed and I don’t know how or why. Every year my expectations are always high thinking maybe we have turned the corner and every year it ends the same. I hope we will beat Blow u….and we don’t. I hope we will get a second chance at them in the big 12 ship…and we don’t. Then I become desperate and hope we win 6 games so we can get that practice in for a bowl game…..we win the bowl and I’m excited again. Will someone please find the curse and break it please. I feel like I’m watching Ground Hog Day!

This one is on

1. Sark and the coaching staff. Poor game plan (if there was one), questionable play calling. A week off and this is all you got? Wasted two timeouts.
2. Dicker… WTF, dude? Ball game.
3. Bijan, 17 carries, 43 yards?
4. O n D lines suck… as usual
5. DBs and LBs suck… tackle, what’s that?
6. Team is mentally weak. No heart.

*Defense has notably returned to their old habit of hands on hips watching if the play isn’t within five yards.

While that is true he has zero pocket awareness. He had an easy TD to Worthy in the 2nd quarter and threw off his back foot with zero pressure in front of him. He threw a ton of balls into coverage today as well. Overall the offensive line wasn’t terrible in pass pro today I thought. Casey has a tendency to get happy feet and throws a ton of balls off of his back foot.

At this point what do we have lose? At least see what you got in Card.

Go back and watch early in the year. He had terrific pocket presence. It has been beaten out of him by an abysmal OL.

That’s exactly what I said in one of my posts above. I didn’t think the line did a terrible job in pass protection today. There were some bad drops but Casey missed on a couple of throws that could have been the difference in the game.

I would like to see Hudson get some reps at some point before the end of the season. He’s a little more athletic and can extend plays with his feet.

What exactly are they doing that leads one to believe they are bad coaches. These are successful coaches with incredible backgrounds.

They may not work out here, but it’s a good staff

It's easier for people on here to blame the coaches. They look at the overall recruit rankings and not the composition of the classes.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the problem may not be coaching. The problem may be "us". And by "us" I mean the culture on campus and in the locker room.

It’s not the coaching. The coaches here are proven coaches that have had success in other places. They are working with Herman’s leftovers right now. It’s hard to change the culture in less than a year. I want to see what happens with this recruiting class and next season before I say that.

Regardless of whether it's the players, coaches, culture, doesn't matter. It is simply the coach's job to make this a quality program-end of story. The football team shares the same culture as women's basketball, volleyball or whatever sport and they seem to be doing alright. I simply don't understand that we have to wait to get Sark's 4* players because Herman's 4* players aren't cutting it. I hope nobody mistakes me for wanting a new coaching staff because I am far from that. I really like what our offense is doing and I have only stated that PK cannot field a clueless defense like against Arkie and blowu. I also feel that we must be playing much better defense as the season ends than where we have been. A spring camp, fall camp and the season itself is a decent amount of time to continue making changes and get the right personnel that is on the team now. Sark can't mess around and wait if it's just not working. I know PK has good credentials, but that doesn't matter-only results matter. Are we to expect that Texas' answer is to have all 5* recruits in order to beat the B12's 3* recruits? Yesterday, I noticed he changed some things up on defense and though it didn't solve all of the problems, it was good in trying to change things up. Keep in mind, Baylor, okie lite, ou are some of the top teams in the nation with no losses. Btw, one thing I haven't seen is very much player leadership. I am not saying it isn't there, but I just haven't seen it.

How do you figure that the different sports programs on campus share the same culture?
They don't share locker rooms.

If you look at the weaknesses of our team, LB and OL, you are not looking at 4 and 5 star recruits.
