Trump comes to Washington with a Republican Senate and House. He inherits an annual budget deficit that is declining and an economy that is steadily plodding along. There is virtually no head winds to a GOP/Trump agenda.
On this board, one of the most ubiquitous and ferocious attacks on Obama was the growth of Federal debt. Are we going to hold Trump to that standard? If the budget doesn't get balanced if the debt continues to grow is that going to be OK with Trump supporters? I suspect that we are getting ready to see the Dick Cheney axiom, "deficits don't matter" dusted off and put into the talking points very soon.
