when the ball hit Burt in the face mask. Sure first down and then they struggled after that until OU went into a prevent defense at the end of the game.

I thought it was when Mixon muffed the punt and then we threw that interception that really wasn't. Foreman had that ball more then the OU player and tie goes to the offense anyway. That would have been 1st and 10. We got 2 turnovers deep in sooner territory and came away with 3 points. Score 14 there and we win the game.

You can't determine who had the ball just like I couldn't, but I will agree in a situation like that the offense usually gets the nod. With Mixon, was he knee down? Too close to change it. Bad calls both ways

If we are playing "what ifs".....what if Quick hadn't dropped that sure TD interception in the flat? Or what if the refs had called an interference penalty on the blatant interference that Texas intercepted....that led to 3 points for Texas? Or what if Mixon hadn't dropped the pitchout late in the game from Mayfield....he had clear sailing for a sure first down and probably a TD......funny how that "what if" game works when you view it from another perspective.

We lost. Never should have been a "what if" game. Charlie himself said we had as much if not more talent than OU.

Should have been incomplete, but it didn't alter the game. Texas is lousy and still were within 5. Both teams are pretty shitty!

3 points on 4 turnovers, several big pass plays where corners checked up (Boyd) or were out of position (Davis) and (Hill). Texas was bad.

the game was lost before it was played. If anybody thought our defense could win us a game or keep us in a game they are insane. We just had to hope OU went full retard and Mayfiled tried to give us the game at the end but lets not act like anything during the game cost us or lost us. It was over before it began. I kind of wish it was a 60 point beat down do Charlie would have been fired after the game.

Burt has stone hands. He'll drop more TD passes than he'll score. The DBs which look like hot garbage were a cornerstone of the 2015 class. They don't look any different than the highly rated Mack players who couldn't do anything on the field. At this rate we'll be saying that Strong left the cupboard bare for the next guy.

Good points all around. Are the Texas players who were recruited by Strong as good as we think they are? Or are they just avg 3 star guys who are avg 3 star guys? I tend to think they are talented and not playing up to their potential at all...but I can see it the other way to. Until they prove they can play they are what we see.

Washington had a 2016 - 29th ranked recruiting class and a 2015 - 27th ranked class. Don't tell me our 2015 - 10th ranked and 2016 - 7th ranked have less talent while Peterson is doing such a great job out there. 2014 they went 8-6., 2015 7-5, this year undefeated. Oh...and we picked up some Baylor transfers....it is pure crap we suck so much.

I researched the game and amazed at just how terrible Oklahoma is at this point. Jordan Thomas is our best corner, but he was burnt for 14 points. Mixon is a stud but Saturday he was doing things that if I was still coaching 4th grade football, I would have pulled a little kid for lol. Bob constantly uses timeouts not because it's smart and good clock management, it's because we are completely lost. If Mike Stoops and cooks keep their jobs after this year it just says Bob and Boren are happy with being mediocre. As for Texas, if Herman doesn't have interest in Texas who would be the next guy y'all go after?

I'll disagree about Thomas. That kid made exceptional play after exceptional play. The two scores you mentioned, only one was a bad play. The second TD pass was just a great play by Texas. Jordan Thomas was in perfect position, and even tipped the ball. The ball was just a hair too deep for him to get a full hand on it. I can't fault him for that.

Who I do fault is Mike Stoops, for completely refusing to continue to do defensively in the 4th quarter what had been working all game long. He's an idiot for not putting pressure on the QB, especially when the secondary was almost completely made of reserves. They needed all the help they could get, but instead he added pressure to them. And the resulting two quick scores is what you got.

No he made plays corners are supposed to make lol. I don't consider those exceptional plays. As I said he is our best corner but he is pretty average.

Don't get me wrong I like Thomas I just don't think he had a great game. Some good plays? Sure. No one in our secondary is exactly a stud. As for Mike Stoops I'd rather have you (miccomacey) coaching the defense at this point.

It's not exactly easy to make some of the plays that thomas did make. but if you go after a db often enough you'll eventually beat him (unless youre going after Deion Sanders). It's like how in baseball, youre considered a pretty good batter if you manage to get a hit 3 times in 10 at bats. doesnt mattter how bad he looks 70% of the time, that 30% is where he lives. I thought some of those moves were impressive, every db wants to do that, if it was easy, they all would much of the time instead of getting burned. he seems to be burned less than others are at least, and he makes plays plenty enough to make teams think twice about trying to test him all game. i'd be going after the freshmen!

As bad as OU played, they could have won by 20. they kept shooting themselves in the foot and got a couple bad calls against them. Doesnt bother me that it wasnt a blowout or anything, even if it could have been, I was happy OU did manage to get the win in a rivalry game against a team/coach who was again desperate for a win. Those are not easy to get !

Are you this dense? The title of the thread was "The moment we lost the game..." and I think that was the key moment for Texas. That was a huge turning point. It doesn't negate how important those other plays were. Don't jump on my answer. If you don't like the whole premise of a turning point for Texas in this game, just say so. Those other plays are more, "The moments Texas got to hang around when we really whipped their ass"
