This Friday's matchups (particularly UT/OSU) look to be some amazing football. They're also a great vindication of the expanded playoff.
In a 4-team format (based on the seedings with Boise/ASU out) we'd have had Oregon, Georgia, Texas and PSU in a playoff. So ND and tOSU wouldn't even have made the playoff, yet both are currently favored to make the final. ASU would not have had the opportunity to show how good they are, and BSU/SMU/Clemson would be left bitching about how great their conference was instead of getting drummed out.
I don't know if we win or not on Friday, but I do feel pretty comfortable that the best 4 teams are playing this weekend. Can't wait to see hoe it turns out.
