According to Comey's testimony, Trump had asked on multiple occasions that Comey inform the public that Trump is not a target of the investigation. Comey refused.
The last straw was on April 11th when Trump called Trump and asked him what he had done about his request. Comey gave him a bullshit response. And that was it. Trump fired him and forced his hand. Now it's out. Trump is not a target of the investigation.
It might be clumsy. But it's not obstruction.
