The SEC is gonna be fun.

I’m looking forward to the move. I don’t think we’re gonna get hammered the way people think. Particularly if we can build on this recruiting classes. Plus a lot of unknowns about what shape the programs in the SEC might be in 2-3 years from today.

Step 1 on the road to recovery before talking sec,

Beat Kansas.........in football.......yeah, for real.
No doubt. I was referring to to crowds. The b12 has half full stadiums unless Texas fans take over opposing stadiums. Texas NIL program will takeover eventually and we will be much better. Hopefully there is never a cap.

Agree with the SEC in game experience observation. It’s a religion in the SEC (except for Vanderbilt). Many B12 games are like a corporate outing. Two different animals. We haven’t seen anything like this every single weekend. I can’t wait.

Frankly, the secsecsec must need whatever help we can give them. So far they are 1-4 in the bowl games with a loss to Army and TT.

That does not include the aTm whiney tap out....

The bowl games are meaningless. Ask Tommy. He won all of his but his regular seasons were not all that great.

Yeah I don’t think you can use bowl games to judge a conference anymore if you ever could. You’ve got coaches missing, players missing, it’s just not an accurate picture. I wish we’d just expand the playoff and do away with the bowls. I think this year has been a good example of how little they really mean. And let’s be clear that’s not a change. They’ve never met much

back in the day The National AP title (the most prestigious) was awarded before the Bowl games were played. A bowl trip was considered a reward for the players. The UP coaches poll came along and took into consideration the Bowl results. Bear Bryant was not happy about this.

Are you serious? The bowl game is always the biggest game of the year. Did Purdue or TN act like they didn't want to be there or that it didn't matter to them? What about TT? You think it's meaningless to Utah? I don't know how it's going to turn out but I'm sure Baylor/MS and OSU/ND will be going all out.

Now are some of these teams average yeah most of them are and last night Pitt played like they were just happy to be there. Btw we're hiring their receiving coach. Look I remember very well when TX couldn't win a bowl game to save their lives. Two of them costed us nc's. Mack Brown was always good in bowl games. In fact since MB we are 16/8 in our last game of the season.

One of the things the SEC always does great is bowl games. They always have the best record. And it does play a big part when it comes to the caliber of their conference. I want to see OSU and Baylor win their P6 bowls tomorrow. Want more proof about how bad the Pac XII is look at their bowl games every year.

It can be a stepping stone to next season. Of course Tom Herman is proof that's not always the case. Happy new year and go

Cincy
MI
Baylor
OSU
And PS, IA, and KSU since they're playing SEC teams.

I call bullshit on that. The fact is the in the last 5 years the secsecsec has had the WORST bowl record of the power 5 conferences. Taking it farther.....if Bama didnt get 2 playoff wins each year the record would be even worse.

The bowl game is not the “biggest game of the year” if that were true teams wouldn’t be coming in to bowl games with GA’s calling plays and bringing coaches off the golf course to coach the game.
Bowl games use to be big deals. That ended when 50% of division 1 qualified for one.

And doesn’t the sec hand pick which team plays in which bowl to give them the best chances to win??

Are y’all sure about this move? Bama kills Cincy - big deal. Georgia murdering Big Blue. A mismatch!

My 2 cents being there...

You all are going to LOVE the SEC. The game day environments are 2nd to none. I've been to Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt(Not a good one) LSU, Florida and Auburn. It is a crazy good experience with some of the most passionate fans you will find. Your fan base will change because of it. You will look forward to each and every week..like really look forward to it because of the game and not just because Texas is playing. Someone mentioned a business like approach with Big 12. It's not that way when you play OU. Every week is a similar feeling to OU, so you have that to look forward to.

I too am under the belief that Texas and OU will come in and compete right away. OU won't run through the conference like they did the Big 12 for sure and will be looking up for a while, but still both teams recruit good athletes.

As far as the bowl records for the SEC, it isn't the worst as mentioned above, there are some things to consider here. The SEC has more opt outs than any other conference each year due to having more NFL talent than any other conference. If you have watched any game this bowl season you will have seen that it is ridiculous the amount of players out, yet they still were 26-16 since 2017. That does not include this year where they are currently 3-5. The bowl season has become a joke...for ALL teams and all conferences.

No. Matter of fact the last 2 years they've dominated the bowl season wasn't even close.

Bama isn’t going to be Bama forever. Nick Saban will be 71 next year. He’s probably got 5 more years at most, and we all know programs don’t usually replace great coaches easily

I call bullshit on that as well....Last year .....the year of the covid hardly counts.....but scoreboard, it happened so I give you 2020. Now.....tell me about this year! Right now the secsecsec is a mighty 5-5. What is the big 12 record this year?....I will hang up and listen while you try and do the math.

Not even close my ass!....Oh!....and while you are at it go ahead and look up 2019, 2018, and 2017.....

Ok Cali....the votes are all in. The mighty secsecsec finished a rousing 3rd this year out of the power 5 conferences. The rank in the event you are still interested was
1. Big 12
2. Big 10
3. Secsecsec
4.ACC
5.Pac 12 ( they even counted as a loss when UCLA could not play their Bowl game)

You're kidding right?! UT can't even fill their own stadium.........

Are you referring to the new south end zone being half empty all season? Those seats were sold out. (The fans were all hanging out in the Club)
I do think its a bad look to the national audience BTW. I believe if you pay for a seat you sit in it an cheer the team on. Not run to the club like a pussy because you believe its too hot outside.

Not just the south end zone, but agree with the premise. OU season tickets are sold out every season and there is a long waiting list., yet there are empty seats at times. Agree it's a bad look for OU, UT, etc. when people don't show up to support their team in person. Then those same people that don't show up bitch about the status of the program ironically.

Who cares where they sit. They paid for their seat, they can do what they want. Or should we make them stand all game and do cheers and hiss?

Can all those people that bailed to the end zone club be heard? Hard to create a loud environment when half the folks are sitting inside. If you were one of those folks, my apologies. I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. Stay home in the AC and let a real fan sit outside an cheer.

Of course when your team sucks attendance drops, and when you’re playing the likes of Baylor, Kansas, Tech. There will be much more excitement for the SEC games.

Don’t forget in ‘05 any notion of a home field advantage for USC was thwarted by a sea of burnt orange flooding the Rose Bowl. When Texas is competitive, nobody’s fans travel better.

No I'm not one of them and my feelings won't be effected by anything that I'm told on this site. I get your point about having a loud crowd, I guess if the admin wanted that they wouldn't have built the clubs. Also, I'm sure the design/plan wasn't on accident, they donated money for the purpose of having those clubs and not having to sit with the peasants.

When Texas is hosting a big team the crowd size isn't a problem. Look at the recent ND, LSU, USC games that were in Austin.

If they’re not going to use the seats, then the club access and the seats should be sold separately. CDC is all about improving the game atmosphere, and this crap flies in the face of those efforts.
