Before I say anything else, I want to open up with a bit of a mea culpa.
In our excitement in launching a new endeavor right before the football season started, there's no question that I personally made a number of miscalculations regarding the launch of The Yakk Podcasting Network and I just want to take a moment to acknowledge our imperfect beginning. In retrospect, I would have spent more time consulting members of the site a little more before dropping a new idea out of the blue on everyone.
With that said, I've spent a lot of time in last few weeks consulting with numerous Orangebloods posters, including some of the more critical-minded folks who really didn't like the way this new venture unfolded from the beginning, in an effort to create a more positive second impression.
Despite the bumpy start, we've created something with The Yakk that we're incredibly proud of and in the coming weeks and months our vision of what we're trying to ultimately create will truly unfold.
Similarly to the "Rivals Gear Promotion", I've been very keen on doing a promotion for the holidays, with hopes of connecting with the members of the site in a way that hopefully make you guys feel good about our efforts to right by all of you.
So, here's are our special holiday offers:
* We want to allow you guys to give a FREE six-month subscription to The Yakk any member of the military, first-responders or teachers that you know that might be into podcasts or specifically podcast content related to Texas sports. No limit. If you know 100 teachers that like UT football or potentially Austin-centric podcasts in general, let's hook them all up.
We're creating a special card for these gift subscriptions so that they can be used as stocking stuffers or as a gift inside of a Christmas card. I will personally work with each request so that we take the extra step needed to make for a cool gift to someone among this group of amazing people for the holidays that we care so dearly about.
* For every single member of this website, we want to offer two more things:
a. All you have to do is request it in this thread or via PM/email and we're going to give you a gift card with three FREE months of The Yakk. In discussions with some of our more concerned critics, there was a feeling that an extended chance to test out the product would be viewed very favorably, so it's the step we want to take.
We think we have a really bad ass little product, even in its infancy, and we'd like for you guys to have a chance to experience things without an immediate ominous ticking clock hovering over you.
b. As an added attempt of good will, we'll also provide up to three of our three-month gift cards to you that you can use as Christmas stocking stuffers or gifts to friends that love podcasts (or UT specific podcasts) or in any way you see fit. Even if you hate podcasts in general, you might have a son or a nephew or a friend that might be interested in what we've created and we want to offer you the chance to use our gift guards as a possible free gift in an otherwise expensive time of the year.
