I’m gonna get roasted for this but fvck it - I’m desperate so I’m coming to my OB brothers and sisters for advice. I’m sure the @TheAssquatch tags could approach record levels ITT.

I’ve been referred to a rectal surgeon to have hemorrhoids removed/repaired. The discomfort is awful and I’ve tried everything to keep it from getting to this point but it seems like this is going to be my only option.

Any advice on how to treat this other than fiber, creams and suppositories? I’d love to avoid surgery.

Anyone in the Austin area dealt with this who had a good MD to recommend? I don’t want to mess around.

If surgery is necessary what is post op like? Recovery time? I had a friend in HS who’s dad had surgery and he said it was miserable for about a week after but that was 30 years ago.

If you’ve never had hemorrhoids before beware and do what needs to be done to avoid them. This is brutal.
