Most of you have forgotten more about this than I will ever know but sadly I have committed 50 years of my life to watching football. Graduated from Texas 1986. Here are a few thoughts. Some I’ve seen already on this site
1. Are we better off with fewer lateral running plays and is there a different back than wisner for that despite fumble concerns
2. Too many multiple fake plays for Ewers against a decent defense. Quicker into reading defense and stop turning back on defense.
3. Simplify number of reads to lessen chance ewers holds onto ball. Stop running plays that take so much time to develop and create oppty for holding
4. Never throw another fade in red zone again
5. Decent defenses have all but zeroed out our lateral pass plays. Seems we keep pushing a rope on this
6. This offense, even in its current form works (may not blow people out) if we don’t commit penalties. Significantly reduce penalties and we are very hard to beat
it seems we had 6 or 7 opportunities to win Saturday. Those opportunities had nothing to do with Ewers. I actually thought we were the better team but a fair margin and just couldn’t close the deal. Such a missed opportunity
Flame away. I’m not here often so if you want to offend definitely don’t expect a response. I’m just a fan that loves Texas football. Our program overall is in such a good spot. Let’s enjoy it!!!!
