As I rewatch and reflect on Quinn’s time here and having watched nearly every throw he’s made several times, the knock for me with Quinn he has rarely made a big time throw when his team has needed it most.

Applewhite to Mcgarity, Simms to Williams, Young to Sweed, McCoy to Shipley/Cosby, Ehlinger to Johnson/Duvernay.

I think of the throw to Mitchell at Iowa State when we had to have it but outside of that throw, I struggle to think of a time where Ewers put the team on his back and made a big time throw at the most critical time late in the game.

I say that as one of his biggest supporters on this site for 3 years. I still believe he should be the starter. I don’t believe he’s what’s holding this team back. He’s made countless elite throws that make scouts drool. He didn’t lose the game against UGA… but he didn’t win it either. And that for me is the knock when you start talking about putting him in the same sentence with someone like Colt McCoy.

He’ll go down as one of the best to suit up at QB here. He’s resurrected a dead program that was losing to Kansas. And he still has time to have his moment with the playoffs ahead. It’s never too late. Why not go out on top?
