I don't think they really care about the actual politics at play here. They are not censoring anyone to do any "good."
They are simply trying to keep their traffic as high as possible.
I think they will ban and unban Trump over and over as long as he is willing to come back. Doing so will keep their name in the headlines.
Twitter was dying before Trump started using it to run for President.
They are also trying to placate the politicians on the left (and a few on the right) who want them to actively censor content by throwing them a bone and hoping it will be enough to avoid actual regulation.
Twitter is not facebook. It could easily drop in value by 1/2 plus without the Trump sh*tshow propping it up.
