Texas offensive coordinator Tim Beck addressed the media after practice on Wednesday. Here are the highlights from his press conference:

--- Beck on Keaontay Ingram’s impact against Kansas State: “Makes a big difference, as you can tell. We've talked about this a number of times. Just run hard, and whether he makes the right cut or wrong cut, make it right, and he did. He started to get more confidence. He’s seeing things really, really, well. He’s starting to run through arm tackles, run over guys, and that's all confidence and seeing things. He did a really nice job, and our o-line did a nice job. Obviously, the combination between that, the RPO game and things we were doing, we fed off each other. Sam did a great job of managing the game. Every single play they made, he had to make decisions on, and he did really well doing it.”

--- Beck was asked if Saturday’s weather could present opportunities to run the football, and if he ever presents strategies to the team. He said, “No, not really. Coach talk, run the football, big plays, you got to throw down the field. Everybody says that. What's real? What's real is you got to take what they give you, and get the ball to the guys that are making plays for you. That’s real. When people say what do you got planned, I don't know. What are they going to give us? What adjustments can we need to make? Then get the ball to the guys that need to get them. How? Well, I don't know. Let's find out what formations work, how they're trying to cover us, how they're aligning defensively to certain things, and then go from there. We have a plan based on the evaluation of film and game plans from other teams, but you, that stuff is overrated because they're planning for us is not the same plan TCU or Baylor Oklahoma time. There’s carry over in games you see, and you practice that stuff.”

--- Beck praised Derek Kerstetter for moving from right tackle to right guard during the game against Kansas State. He said Kerstetter did not miss a beat on Kansas State’s blitz packages on third-down, or any protection calls.

--- In addition, Beck said Denzel Okafor played well at right tackle. Beck said Okafor receives a lot of reps during practice, and it paid off this past Saturday.

--- Beck was asked if there was a recruiting advantage at receiver when Lil’Jordan Humphrey had over 1,000 yards receiver, while Devin Duvernay is on pace to break for the same achievement. Beck said, “We're able to take advantage of that guy in the slot probably as good as anybody in the country based on the numbers dating back to four or five years ago either and places we’ve been, coach Herman and myself. Every year we've had those kinds of guys, and same with the big guys … I know I'm a wide receiver I'm looking at Texas for sure.”
