49 states are in Safe Harbor with West Virginia joining tomorrow. The Supreme Court just rejected the Pennsylvania case 9-0 which to me is a huge signal that they are not going to fool around with any more cases unless there is clear evidence of fraud and that includes the Texas case. My guess is that after they receive responses on Thursday that Paxton's case will be dismissed by the weekend if not sooner.
On Monday the electors meet and vote and the results will be in. It will be over. Will Republicans still be denying reality after that? Will the Republican Congress finally recognize Joe Biden as President elect? If not why not?
To deny the judgment of the voters of the country as well as question not only the integrity of the electoral process but also our judicial system is unconscionable. You may not agree that the election was fair even though it has been verified and judged accordingly by officials and judges from your own party you as American citizens must bend to the common good of our beloved country.
I still believe that Trump v Gore was an incorrect decision based more on politics than the law but I will never regret or question the process that brought us to that decision. After Bush v Gore was decided, Gore accepted the verdict and coincided the next day saying,
"I accept the finality of the outcome, which will be ratified next Monday in the Electoral College” he said. “And tonight, for the sake of our unity as a people and the strength of our democracy, I offer my concession.”
Although I am sure we will never hear words of that nature from President Trump it is my hope that a least members of Congress will make some concession and recognize Joe Biden as President Elect. They really need to set the example for the entire nation that at some point country matters more than party or my chances at being re-elected.
