so I like to think of myself as a Democrat of the Lloyd Bentsen/John Kennedy Democrat. And I used to read conservative magazines like the National Review. Didn’t necessarily agree with a lot of it, but the writing was superb. Indeed, reading that, the WSJ (I went to business school at UT), in addition to the New Republic and NYT, I taught myself to write — and I write pretty well.
For a variety of reasons though — not the least of which is because of my law practice took up so much of my reading time — I got away from that.
So in any event, I would like to rebroaden my horizons and would like recommendations for well done conservative publications to read.
I am looking for well-written, intellectual conservative material. The likes of Ann Coulter is a non-starter.
So please recommend:
Your top 3 conservative books from the last 10 years.
2 newspapers.
2 magazines.
Also, what are the best shows on Fox to watch? Please exclude Hannity, Carlson, and Pirro.
