Ketch is right. Context does matter.

Context includes last season, which saw a signature performance in Tuscaloosa, hoisting the Final B12 trophy following a ridiculously good performance and coming up just short of a national title game appearance, which had more to do with fumbles than with Quinn.

This season, Quinn leads a squad sitting at #3 and atop the SEC SEC. He was exceptional against a good and fired up Michigan defense in a raucous environment with the nation watching. Injured later. Seemed to be back to his badass self against Florida, then Pig.

Think about Pig more closely. I was there. While Quinn left a lot to be desired early, context matters here as well. When the chips were down - when that very loud stadium was at peak squeal, Quinn manned up, let ‘em hang and won the damn game with a drive and an absolute dime to Golden. That’s what winners do.

Bitch and moan about Quinn if you want.
Viewed in the full context of this two year run at or near the top of college football, I see Quinn as a stud who is afraid of nothing and who comes through when the chips are down. Those qualities will serve his team well as we enter the most interesting, high stakes series of games Texas has seen - maybe ever. I, for one, am glad to have Quinn Ewers at the helm.
