“When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.” - William Arthur Ward
It is funny how this quote rings true. When I think about the times I’ve thought the worst of people, it usually ends up making me a more negative person. If I anticipate the worst of another, then I tend to react to them in a negative way.
When my wife and I used to fight, I have found that the root of the fights were each of us thinking the worst first instead of trying to gain understanding before reacting to what was being said. I submit that if we try to see the best in others first, we will react better and thus bring out the best in ourselves.
Try to discover the best in others first and see if it makes a difference.
Philippians 2:3-4
