“The glow of one warm thought is to me worth more than money”. - Thomas Jefferson

There are days when a kind word is worth more than gold. I recall while I was grieving the loss of my Dad, I got a call out of nowhere from an old high school friend. We were friends growing up and he knew my Dad well from his interactions with him when he’d come over to our house. He told me how sorry he was that my Dad had passed and told me how much he respected my Dad and enjoyed talking to him. My Dad had a way of making all my friends feel special.

That call came at a time I was really down; I needed to hear those kind words of affirmation about my father. This really stuck out to me since most of my friends didn’t know what to say which is common when someone dies. We don’t want to say the wrong thing, so we don’t say anything which can make one feel like no one cares.

Don’t underestimate what a kind word can mean to someone, it’s worth more than you may ever know.

Take care my friends!
