A while back I posted in a response to Mrs. T., the below comments, I thought it might be worth repeating for those who missed it.
I have found had I not gone through some very hard times, my faith would have been stuck where it was at those times, i.e. no growth. I find Paul's account in Acts of when Jesus went to the garden before he was arrested, and sent to the cross, he gathered his closest friends and asked them to pray for him for he was in great sorrow, then he asked his Father for another option, then finally gave in to his Father's will, not his own, and ENDURED the tribulation of the cross. He got THROUGH it and received JOY at the end.
The above is a great model for us, when we face trials, don't go through it alone, ask your friends to be with you, pray for you, and that can give you the strength to endure the trial/tribulation so you can get through it and find the joy of your faith being strengthened.

Don’t be afraid to reach out to others when facing a hard time, we will all face them at some point.
