"Life becomes easier when you learn to accept the apology you never got." - R. Brault

I imagine we all have been wronged during our lives. How many of those times did we NOT receive an apology? Sometimes the offender doesn’t even know they have wronged you.

Our typical response is to get angry, write that person off from our lives, or worse, lash out and try to get even.

I’ve been there too many times. In every case I can think of, I could have saved myself a lot of stress and even health issues if I had just learned to forgive right away. I once held a grudge for over 3 years, and I was miserable. My mind kept playing the wrong over and over like a broken record. I lost many nights of sleep trying to think of ways to get back at the offender. I ended up in the ER twice from anxiety attacks.

I finally decided to make the CHOICE to forgive the offender. I never FELT like it, I learned that forgiveness is a CHOICE, not a feeling. The feelings came later after I forgave. My stress level dropped, and I could finally enjoy life again.

Be slow to anger and quick to forgive my friends. Easier said than done for sure, but it’s worth trying.
