“What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do.” — Tim Ferriss
We’ve talked a lot about fear and how it can cripple us. Fear can rob us of opportunities and keep us from making positive changes that lead to a better life for us and others. As a grief specialist, I see this in my practice. As a fellow griever, I was fearful of seeking help for a long time. I didn’t want to appear weak or needy. I didn’t want to burden others with my problems. Society teaches us to “be strong”, “move on”, and “pull yourself together”. Those phrases don’t work.
Those who struggle with addiction may fear the process of getting sober, it’s painful and they can fear failing once they start the path to sobriety, so they hesitate or worse, never seek help.
The opposite of fear is faith and my prayer for all of you that are struggling with something that you can find the faith to face that fear and take that first step to recovery.
Remember FAITH is > Fear my friends!
