“Someday is not a day of the week.” –Janet Dailey

This quote reminds me of a movie I saw a long time ago and just recently saw again while on an airplane back to Austin.

If you haven’t seen The Dead Poet Society, I highly recommend it. Robin Williams was excellent, and I loved the main theme of the movie which was…Carpe Diem (Seize the day).

How many times have you said to yourself…fill in the blank… “someday I will _______”?

Perhaps you are thinking of making a big change in your job, eating better, working out, getting sober, traveling to a bucket list place, starting your own business, or several other things that you might think are risky or too hard to do.

I can only tell you from one experience I had when I was frustrated with my pharma rep job, I wanted a big change. However, I had a wife and 3 kids to take care of and starting my own business or going for a big promotion was very scary. After talking it over with my wife and praying nonstop, I finally decided to go for it, and I could not have been happier with my leap of faith. It was rough the first year or two, but so worth it in the long run.

This doesn’t mean you jump into something without weighing the pros and cons, but someday is not a day of the week, Thursday or another day of this week may be the day to take that leap of faith.

Carpe Diem my friends!
