“The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.” –Anonymous
Comparing ourselves to others is as old as the day Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. When our Creator asked Adam if he ate from the forbidden tree, he blamed Eve, i.e. she gave me the fruit and I ate it, then Eve blamed the snake.
I am fairly confident that if I ask any of you if you are a “good person”, many of you would say YES, and maybe say something like, well compared to others I am, I haven’t murdered anyone, etc. It’s human nature to compare ourselves to others.
We can’t control how others behave; we can only control ourselves. We have the freedom to change our behavior for the better.
As I’ve told my kids as they grew up…make good choices.
Be careful out there!
