We can be our own worst judges

I would imagine all of us at one time or another compare ourselves to others. This is a flawed endeavor. This can produce feelings of pride or inferiority and sometimes a mixture of both. Our Creator leads us along a path that is unique to each person. Comparing is not only wrong, but meaningless.

We also shouldn’t look for affirmation in the wrong places, such as our own or from others. The proper affirmation comes from our Creator who loves us unconditionally. How do we know this? He died for us so that we can have an eternal relationship with Him. He is not constantly looking for fault, but rather He covers us with His grace and salvation. He sees us in His robe of righteousness.

When He disciplines us, it’s not out of anger, but out of love so that when we meet Him face-to-face, we will be in fellowship with Him forever. We should be receptive to His affirmation which comes from His throne of grace.
