How’s your prayer life going?
Growing up I never really understood the act of praying. As a kid I thought it was all about asking for what I wanted and hoping to get a YES answer. Later in life, I began to learn that it is really about a two-way communication with our Creator.
Our Creator encourages us to come to Him with positive expectation, knowing that there is no limit to what He can accomplish. He asks that we allow His Spirit to control our minds and not to be discouraged if our prayer(s) go unanswered or the answer is no. Time is a trainer, teaching us to wait upon Him, to trust Him when we are in the dark. I’ve learned that our Creator is not a vending machine, nor a genie to grant our every wish. Even the Apostle Paul prayed for a “thorn” to be removed, and it was denied.
The more extreme our circumstances, the more likely we are to see His Power and Glory at work in the situation. We, however, tend to increase our worry rather than trust that He is setting the scene for His positive intervention. We are asked to keep our eyes and mind wide open to all that He is doing in our lives.
Keep trusting my friends!
