I'm posting this a couple hours early as I have an early morning flight back to Austin, so bedtime is early tonight.

LOSING ONE’S SELF

As I get to know others I’m amazed at some of their life stories. Those of faith have told me things that if they weren’t true, would be very hard to believe. We all have our own path in life and our Creator creates that path that is unique to us alone.

The closer we grow to Him, the more we can become our true self that He intended us to be. We are one of a kind, thus our paths can vary greatly from others. However, even though our paths can be very different, He still allows us to be in close contact with others.

An example of this is how my wife and I met. I came from a small town on the east coast; my wife came from a small town in southern Mexico. Our lives couldn’t have been more different growing up, yet we ended up meeting at work at a hotel chain our families both used to stay at while growing up.

The more we devote ourselves to Him, the more He will allow us to love other people. The key to find our true selves is by losing ourselves in our Creator.
