Unrequited Love

Lost love is a topic of countless songs, poems, movies, TV shows, etc. It is one of the hardest things one can go through. I remember talking to my dad when a girlfriend dumped me. He was sympathetic and told me that I would probably meet 14 different girls before the “right one” would come along. What’s funny is, he was exactly right. I counted all the times I had been dumped, and it was exactly 14.

We are called to love others selflessly, even when that love is not returned. Our Creator’s Word provides wisdom, comfort, and encouragement for those struggling with loving someone who does not reciprocate their feelings.

When love feels one-sided, we may question our worth or struggle with rejection. But our Creator reminds us that our value is found in Him, not in how others respond to our love. Trusting Him in these moments can bring us peace.

Even when human love fails us, His love remains constant. He is our ultimate source of comfort and peace. Turning to Him in times of heartache reminds us that we are never alone.

Sometimes, loving someone who doesn’t love us back is a sign that our Creator has something better in store. Letting go can be difficult, but when we trust His plan, we find peace in knowing that He is leading us to something greater.

Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 34:18, 2 Corinthians 12:9

You are loved by the ONE that truly matters!
