Is Your Family Functional or Dysfunctional?
I grew up in a typical midwestern family. I was the youngest of 4 children. Being the youngest, early in my life I felt like I was the favorite, at least that’s what my older brothers thought, thus I got picked on a lot by them. Later as I became an adult, I had the idea that my closest older brother in age was my mom and dad’s favorite. He was funny and seemed to have more of a connection to the things my parents enjoyed. An example was my brother loved to hunt as much as my dad, I hated it, I was more of a city guy than outdoors type.
Sibling rivalry can lead to betrayal and broken relationships, Scripture provides wisdom, guidance, and healing for families facing difficulties today. Sibling rivalry has existed since the beginning of time, leading to conflict and breakdown within families. The Bible shows how jealousy and competition between siblings can cause deep wounds, yet God can bring healing and redemption.
God calls us to pursue forgiveness and reconciliation. Through His grace, broken relationships can be restored.

Funny thing about my older brothers, as we became adults, we became great friends. When my business became busy, I ended up hiring both of them…I had the opportunity to bless them after all the teasing I got growing up, they ended up calling me...BOSS! Reminds me of the story of Joseph.
